A
bit about Glory Days Farm. We are a relatively small
operation, devoting an extreme amount of time and schooling to
each and
every Mountain
Horse in our care. All of our
Mountain Horses are hand picked by us from locations throughout the
United
States,
wherever
we find
that special Rocky Mountain Horse, Kentucky Mountain Saddle Horse, Spotted Mountain Horse or
Mountain Pleasure Horse, we think will make an excellent trail horse.
From the ground up, these young ones are trained by the two of us --
we have over 26 years experience. At our farm, we don’t breed, show, or trade horses; we don't have 'herds,' we have a 'selected'
group of horses, looking for 'selected' human trail companions. We had horses before having horses
was the 'in' thing. That brings us to this -- we are thrilled so many
people are showing an interest in trail riding. That is what we help
make happen; we
teach each Mountain Horse to be a competent, kind, trustworthy, smooth
gaited trail partner, not only for experienced riders but for the 'first
horse' trail rider. At Glory Days, we don't let a
horse go until we feel it is educated in trail riding and will take his human companion safely down the trails.
The following
pages are intended to introduce you to the Mountain Horse breeds
we train for trail riding; Rocky Mountain Horses, Kentucky Mountain
Saddle Horses, Spotted Mountain Horses, and Mountain Pleasure Horses. These horses have a
4-beat gait that is comfortable for those of us with back problems
- you can stay in the saddle for as long as your equine trail companion
is conditioned to ride. Another intent of our photo gallery is to
introduce you to us, our animal family, our farm and some of the
wonderful people - now friends - we have found and trained trail
riding companions for (be it for endurance rides or strictly pleasure).
So gather in the family, call in a friend, or kick back on your own
and have a look, we promise you'll see some awesome Mountain Horses. |
